The Music of Heaven

“Hallele” Luscious layers of harmonies upon harmonies from heaven enraptured me.  Again, the sound:
“Hallele”! The sounds captivated me as they echoed through my mind as choruses of saints and myriads of angels repeated a word that I have never heard on earth. “Hallele! Hallale! O Yahweh! Hallelujah!” They rejoiced!
For over an hour I experienced the Holy Spirit’s song that came rushing through my heart like a force of water. There seemed to be no distance between me and that heavenly realm. In those expectant moments, I was connected to heaven and we were singing the same song! The music that day was unlike any I had ever heard, save the time that in church, my Pastor and I both heard a loud choir of angels so loud at the same time, with our natural ears, some years before!! That service had been after an all night worship time, and to be honest, I was not feeling anything by the next morning. I was tired after an “all nighter”, in which I had practiced and learned a brand new song for Sunday and made the copies and chords for everyone, and my body was on auto pilot by Sunday morning service. I saw everyone else receiving, feeling laughter, and getting waxed drunk in the Holy Ghost. Although I had felt all of this presence the night before, nothing was going on with me. I saw the crowd, felt envious of their joy and laughter because I just wasn’t feelin it! I prayed then and said, “God I WANT TO FEEL YOUR FIRE!” Then I began to sing a song by Lamb, a 70’s Jewish Rock group. “Sing a happy song, unto the Lord, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, Aleluia! I felt the warmth of the Lord enter the room. The room which had been full of dancing people suddenly turned quiet. It was as if everything had become a green house full of growing tender plants. The warmth of the Lord’s presence was thick like a blanket. I began to sing the chorus of the Lamb song: “Break Forth In Joy Hallelujah, Sing a Mighty Joyful song to Yeshua!” AS this happened, not only was I singing the chorus, (as I was the one who knew the words because it wasn’t planned on the music list.) but also with me was a choir of what sounded like a frequency of thousands of high voices. Imagine Handel’s Messiah’s “Hallelujah Chorus” and multiply that by 1,000. The voltage seemed to change. I opened my eyes, looked at Pastor Mary who gave me the look of FIRE in her eyes and I knew she had heard it too! This was confirmed by her word later. It seemed like a time warp between the two lines of the chorus wherein time stood still. When I heard the voices, it was as if my spirit had risen to the ceiling, and I honestly thought that we were about to be raptured. But looking at Pastor Mary it seemed our natural minds wanted to think that something has happened to our sound and added a choir of 1,000,000 people. I began to respond by adoration and weeping uncontrollably. Pure, sheer, joy in wave after wave of God’s love and glory enveloped me. This happened again the day that he gave me the song Hallele, some years later. Only, this time, my spirit and not my natural ears heard the sounds of heaven.

That day, the Lord had prepared my heart earlier in the morning at dawn when I was standing on the back porch; I looked up to witness a flock of birds migrating. They made no cry. The only sound I heard was that of wings waving in unison like the rhythmic movements of synchronized swimmers. While pausing to ponder their peaceful, unhurried flight I felt the peace and the presence of God gently settle on me.  Thoughtfully, returning inside I found myself at the piano. At the very first note, a heavenly vision filled my soul.  At first, I saw people at the edge of a sea as far as the eye could see. There were thousands of people just singing the word “Hallele! Hallele!  I had never heard that word before, but I am certain it is a praise word that refers to Hallel (Hebrewהלל‎‎, “Praise”).  At my own piano, I was singing right along with this new song of heaven. As I played the piano the music began to change. I began to hear the singers in their individuality and uniqueness as well as in the cultural sound that was unique to various groups, playing together forming a something so different than had ever been in my experiences with church choir music or praise and worship teams. It was as if the whole place was teaming with life, activity and people. There were soft and LOUD sounds, each being highlighted to me in turn but deep down I know the sound was continuous and simultaneous. I heard violins and stringed instruments playing simply and purely. Added to that were layers; a gospel choir, rich deep kongo sounding drums keeping their rhythm, with them was a symphony orchestra with all of the parts so splendidly arranged that it seemed even Mozart or Beethoven could have been leading the section. With these, I heard worshippers from every kindred, tribe, people and nation, each sharing their uniquely gifted voice or instrument together in praise to the King, singing: “Hallowed be Thy Name! Jesus!” At which time, everyone shouted with exuberant jubilation.  We went on singing about His name for a while and the mass of people began singing, “Holy, Holy,” in a familiar tune as I played “In the Presence of Angels, with Glory on the Wings… like the voice of many waters, I can hear the angels sing” (Every God anointed song on earth was birthed in Heaven!)   This went on for quite a while but then the Lord began to lead my hands into another movement, as I played, I heard no more singing, only a loud TRUMPET, and what sounded like an electric guitar playing in harmony with the trumpet. The sound that seemed to come from everywhere was like electricity coming out of God Himself. It was as if Gabriel, (or the trumpet player)  was having a delightful time of it, holding nothing back! I could almost feel the laughter of God in the sound, and yet I could sense the roaring, Holy Fire and and awesome reverence.

Soon after this,  It felt like Holy Spirit carried me to another place his tender nudging voice saying, ” Here, I want to show you something!” That place was high in the heavenlies where I heard the sounds of the constellations, stars and celestial forms praising God. The frequency of the sound was inhumanly high and some were thin and piercing yet pure and beautiful; as crystal. The still small whisper of the Lord spoke gently to me, “Even the stars worship Me”.  Then he carried me to a river where I heard and saw the water trickling in a very wooded place and small waterfalls. I heard their music as the Lord confirmed again with a tender voice, “Even the water worships Me.” I lingered with the water sounds for a while and let my fingers play the piano with the melodies that sounded like little brooks. I kept singing the phrase: “Waves, waves, waves of Glory, Waves of Glory.”  Then as quickly as the previous scene came I was whisked away, this time to the deep, under the ocean, where I heard the deep, playful praises of aquatic creatures, whales, dolphins and porpoises giving glory to the Lord with their cries!

A SONG IN THE NIGHT:

A few weeks prior to this encounter, while asleep I had a dream from the Lord. It contained the most beautiful bell sound that chimed in my dream and woke me up. These were rich deep tones that stirred my spirit with such longing for heaven and for His presence.

“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,” Your name is as ointment poured forth. No wonder that the maidens love you. (Song of Songs 1:3)

I took time to come to the piano and try to remember the music that had been in my dream. As I did, it came back to me and the Lord revealed more of His heart to me. We think very 21st century about music. But HE IS ETERNAL. We are engaged in our own pop culture world of sound. He IS from the beginning! He took me through movements and themes that were presented in history, both musical and artistic. I saw the darkness of the dark ages when people in their ignorance shut out the truth and it was hidden for a time. As I worshipped, I was swooped up taken to the ceiling of painted church where someone of the likes of Michelangelo had painted a story on the ceiling. I took note that the time of the Renaissance, the Great Awakening, and the Revivals through time were all leading up to a culmination of the purpose. I only see this dimly, but as I meditate on it more and more, I recall that the heavenly music I heard was not one particular type, style or genre. It was a holy blend of every good thing God had created in every culture.  It reminded me that out of  every kindred every tribe, every people and nation He has called his church.

Revelation 7:9 After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

And we became ONE UNIFIED SOUND! As I listened in my spirit to the voices and the sounds that played before me, they were a blend of so many intertwining and intricate parts and movements. There was water, thunder, creatures, and stars, birds, animals in the mix. But I heard the sound of classical guitars, Celtic pipes, tambourines, violins (and “fiddles”! I heard cello swells, and staccato notes, paired with super alto vocals. There were some movements that typified flamingo and spanish guitar, then some others that mixed together the sounds of large classical stringed orchestra with massive gospel choirs, with timpani and trumpets. Each had their part in it’s time and particular order. Nothing was missing, it was very balanced and orchestrated even thought it would seem to be many styles like a many faceted jewel showing the reflections of different aspects of God’s character!  I heard a strong, male voice singing: “Go out with Joy and be led forth with Peace
Go out with Joy and come again
Return to the Plow
Look not back again
Be steady go out and reap
Be steady and reap
Reap once again! GO OUT!
GO OUT AND REAP! REAP the HARVEST!”

Then I heard female voices sing:

“Come unto Him all who are hungry
Come and Your soul will be fed
Come unto Him all who are thirsty
Refresh your souls with JOY”

Then everyone came together and sang:

“Come unto Him all who weep now
Come and your souls will be fed
Come unto Him who are thirsty
Refresh your souls with JOY!

Awake my soul and Wake NOW
Awake my soul awake!
Awake my soul and WAKE NOW!
Awake my soul awake!
Rejoice before the Lord
Rejoice before the Lord
Rejoice Before …
BEFORE THE LORD!

I still have all of this music inside of me.  It never leaves me.  I know that someday I will hear it again in heaven.  It is my deepest desire and wish to somehow share it with the world… to assemble the mass choir, and find the players of all of the various instruments and play together.  Maybe this is going to happen in Heaven. Maybe here on earth. I do not know if it will take place in my generation or during the millenial reign of Christ.  I have seen it. I hope that it happens in my life time.

The world has its counterfeit of this music. It was born of a different purpose.  The counterfeit glorifies man’s achievements, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.  The difference is one glorifies the creation and the other glorifies, the Creator.

The True King deserves our worship and love. Yet, He loved us first!  He is beautiful and amazing! He is wonderful and real!  He desires to have a relationship with you and that we come into close fellowship with Him.

“He has made us to be seated with Him in heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:21) far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,  which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”  Get ready!  We are living in an exciting time!  Jesus is coming soon!

Scripture verse:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
