For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for good and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.-Jeremiah 29:11
I woke up this morning and started to read in Matthew chapter 1. As I began to read, I wanted to skip over the genealogy of Jesus Christ but then felt impressed to go ahead and read it all even though I have read it many times and found the “so in so begat so and so” a bit mundane. But as I came to verse 6 and read: “Jesse was the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon by Bathsheba; her of Uriah.” I stopped and pondered this. I began to think that despite King David’s major foul-up of murdering a man and stealing his wife he did not catch God by surprise. Jesus would still come through David’s family line as promised. The Bible tells us that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. God knew David would blow it and yet his mistake was not able to prevent the plan of God from being completed. It is no different for you and I. Don’t buy into the lie that you have somehow fouled up his plan beyond repair or that it is too late and God cannot use you to accomplish His will. That you have somehow sinned too greatly or wasted too much time. Just as David couldn’t foul up God’s plan for his life neither can you! Put your faith and trust in that truth and begin right now to follow His leading, expecting the miraculous as His glorious plan unfolds in your life!

Romans 4:19-21 (NASB)
19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.
