Divine Destiny

Let’s be truthful about it! The devil does not want you to fulfill your divine destiny! And He will try to use any means possible to thwart your purpose. Many times the opposition that is being used against you comes in the form of other people or circumstances. However, right in the middle of that opposition you can find yourself smack dab in the center of God’s plan. Even if it looks like you’ve lost your way in a GPS system that frequently says”rerouting”, God’s ultimate goal is to get you to your destiny. As in Joseph’s life, God’s plan still manifested, albeit in the disguise of opposition. For although Joseph was sold, into slavery by his own brothers, that did not stop God’s marvelous plan. One might even say it was part of the plan; the process of changes ended up being the catalyst that brought Joseph into the second highest position in the land! It could almost be equated that Joseph’s brother’s hate brought him into his destiny. Because, if they would have loved him he might have stayed in Canaan!

Like Joseph, you might be the one who was mistreated, because of envy. You may at some point find yourself amongst family members, coworkers  or even Christian brothers and sisters,  who become jealous and  want to compete for position.  If so, you are in good company with Joseph, Daniel, David and even Jesus and Paul.  “But Proverb’s 4:3 admonishes, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” Therefore, do not give a foothold to the devil.

On the other hand, you could  be the one who is like Joseph’s older brothers, tempted or struggling with jealousy, But in either case, it is important to guard your heart! Envy or jealousy in your heart, if not checked will become a workshop for the devil.  The moment you see it in your heart, deal with it immediately by thanking God for that person that you are envying and praise God for their gifts. Know your limitations; understand that you are gifted in certain areas and others are gifted in certain areas.  They have limitations as do you.  We all need each other!

“If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?   And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?  If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?  18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.  And if they were all one member, where would the body be?” 1 CORINTHIANS 12:15-19

It is only when a man is blind to his destiny that he becomes envious of another person’s destiny.  How do you feel when the Kingdom prospers through another person?  If you are a bona fide citizen of that Kingdom you will rejoice when others are blessed and are successful. Because this was Joseph’s attitude, everywhere he went, “the Lord was with him.”  He had to have been worshipper for that to happen because God always inhabits praise! Praising is a great way to guard your heart!

Through the trials he faced, Joseph learned that it wasn’t all about him! The trials in your life need not the focus of your attention.  The experience of Joseph’s trial gave him a wealth to share. Notice that while Joseph was in the jail, he cared about the countenance of the other men.  This is not a person who is sad and has his eyes on himself!

But remember, you are not the target of the devil.  Your dream is!  What you’re carrying is the target. The anointing of God on your life is the target.  If the devil can get us to say “I quit!” Then we’re helping him! Hide yourself in God and fight for your dream in spiritual warfare.  The more gifted and talented you are, the fiercer the battle may be because the enemy knows if you become what God wants you to become, you will touch a lot of people.  Don’t waste energy on unforgiveness and fighting against people.  We wrestle not against flesh and blood.   Deal directly with the real enemy; the devil.”

God is the dream giver.  He will be your Dream Keeper. He will be the one who causes you to finish your course! If you have a dream you can’t just passively pray about it.  When you have a destiny, it takes fervent prayer to enforce it.  It’s like the constitution. It is written but without it being enforced and lived by it’s just a another piece of paper. I am writing this to encourage you to believe it so that you will not miscarry the dream and all that the Lord has spoken concerning you.  In the name of Jesus, you will step into your destiny!
